The Western States Racing League hosts NASCAR sim-racing two nights a week on the iRacing.com service and we are looking for new members. We encourage hard racing and serious competition, as long as drivers are clean and the races stay green. We're all here to enjoy racing, and wrecks are no fun. Nor is running caution laps.

All skill levels are welcomed, regardless of iRating or Class, as long as drivers can hold their line. Whether it is out of respect for their fellow racers or due to self-discipline, our drivers give each other room to race. It makes for intense, competitive and fun racing. And it's a friendly atmosphere, both on the track and in our forums.

The WSRL used to host sim-racing on its own server for over a decade with Papyrus' NASCAR Sims. In June of '10 we made the switch to iRacing. Now we're adding drivers for larger fields as we run the big NASCAR tracks.

The WSRL currently hosts two series:

  • Tuesday Night is our "Arrive and Drive" Series:
    • Chevrolet Impala Class B and Chevrolet Silverado (Class C)
    • Fixed setups
    • 30% of Cup event distance
  • Friday Night is our feature series:
    • Chevrolet Impala (Class A)
    • Open setups
    • 40% of Cup event distance

Practice sessions start at 5:00PM Pacific and run for two hours and 15 minutes.

Qualifying (two-laps) begins at 7:15, and is immediately followed by the Race Session.

The schedule is available here or from the menu on the left.

There is no charge to join the WSRL: There is no league membership fee, no required donation, no prize pool, and no cost for iRacers to participate in our events (and BTW, donations are never solicited). But the flip-side is that there are no prizes, no trophies and no money or other reward for winning races or winning the WSRL Championships. We race because we love sim-racing and we enjoy the competition.

Many members have been with us for years and a bunch of us are over 40. We're not all that fast, but we're clean and respectful. In addition to being competitors, we're all friends. We have held several gatherings over the years in Las Vegas, Southern California and Northern California. And if the recession ever lets up we'll get together again. It's a fun group, there's no attitudes and we welcome new members.

If you're interested in joining, please take a moment to view our rules. They give an idea of our priorities and a feel for what we're all about. If you've read the rules and are still interested, fill-in the form on the Join page.
